6 JUNE 2021, SINGAPORE-- We are finally seeing the light away from a crippling pandemic. This means that people are going back to the professional battlefield and into the “fight to find work.” With almost everything in a company turned online, how do they make sure they stand out?

The good news is that a portfolio and video resume platform is expected to revolutionize the job market in the next decade. A young and promising tech startup founded by a group of National University of Singapore (NUS) students launched Outwiths-- the newest media platform that allows job hunters to showcase their skills, past projects and pleasing personality in just one link.

Muri Johanson, a young professional from Cornell University, hopes that the pandemic may bring about some positive changes: "Working from home seems to have changed culture a lot… It's exciting to see the workplace could change to allow people to be more themselves."

In just one page, the employer would be able to assess the candidate’s technical skills, creativity and passion for projects. Coupled with a concise video resume to supplement the portfolio, this new platform will definitely streamline the hiring process.

The competition will definitely be fierce. "We've come from it being a tough and challenging time last year, to having plenty of jobs now and looking to see if applicants come back on-stream," says LinkedIn's chief economist, Karin Kimbrough.

Today, Outwiths aims to expand its base to 10,000 of users by 2022 starting from Singaporean and Malaysian youth. This new innovation is expected to remove time and technology barriers that have stood in the way of many employers and job seekers before.
